Hugely intense aromas jump from the glass, full of exotic fruits like mango, guava, pomegranate and mulberry all held together with a thread of herbal spice. On entry this is tighter and less fleshy than one might expect from the nose, with a really attractive core of violet tinged black plum and mulberry fruit. This lacks the exoticism found on the nose but shows really fine balance with fine grained tannins and integrated acidity supporting the fresh fruit that is underlain with soft earthy and herbal nuances. The finish throws a bit of chocolate and cedar into the mix, and shows fairly good length. This is lovely, easy to drink yet both subtle and complex. 88pts

There’s a lightly gummy/candied element to the fruit here along with attractive balsamic and white pepper accents. A touch low in flavor on entry, though this feels a bit tight and firm. The tannins are definitely present underpinning the ripe berry fruit that has almost a Christmas quality with hints of mint, balsam, and spice. Nice cherry and blackberry fruit is enlivened by solid acidity, though this does turn a bit woody on the back end, picking up nuanced cedar and spice notes along with rather drying wood tannins. The finish is dry and a bit hot, and very short. Admittedly not the current release, this should be consumed soon as it does seem to be falling apart. 83pts

This blend of 49% Syrah, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 17% Carmenere is the secondary bottling for Antiyal Winery, and their prized andldquo;Antiyalandrdquo; wine. Located on a pristine valley floor at the foot of the Andes Mountains, the Kuyen, which means moon in the indigenous Mapuche language, is concentrated and smooth with loads of dark fruits such as currant, plum, and cherry, with notes of tobacco and some cocoa with a dark violet color. The aromas of leather, pepper, and cherries allude to the well-integrated flavors, exciting complexity, and long finish. Kuyen is aged in French oak barrels then bottled and aged an additional six months in the cellar prior to release. I recommend decanting the Kuyen for an hour or two before drinking to allow the brood flavors to fully express themselves.

Opens with an enticing package of cedar, tobacco, herb, leather and black-fruit aromas. The palate has live-wire acidity and overall the wine is bright, piercing and full, with herbal black cherry, cassis and cola flavors. The finish is a little quick and short on flavor but big on texture and tannins. Made from Syrah, Cab Sauvignon and Carmenandegrave;re.
Vivid ruby. Pure, mineral-driven aromas of raspberry, boysenberry, woodsmoke, Asian spices and violet. Silky, pliant and spicy, accompanied by a restrained sweetness and good verve to its red and dark fruit flavors. The spicy note carries through a long, focused and gently tannic finish. This wineandrsquo;s balance and purity are impressive.
