The wine is ruby red with violet hues. The scent is broad intense, with notes of red fruit reminiscent of cherry and raspberry. In the mouth it is soft and well balanced.
Santa Cristina is probably Antinori's absolute best value Tuscan red. Grown on their hillside estate vineyard in Cortona, near Montalcino, this blend of 60% Sangiovese 40% Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah with a hint of oak aging is a prime example of their ability to combine long standing traditions with dynamic innovation. The wine shows bold aromas, with hints cherry, roasted nuts and tobacco. On the palate it is well-rounded, harmonious, and rich with a lingering finish. All of this for under $11 and the Antinori name on the label. Pretty hard to top.
Straw-yellow in color. The bouquet opens with luscious fruity-floral aromas reminiscent of lemon zest and white flowers. Soft and well-balanced on the palate, with lingering flavors of fresh citrus on the finish.
Ruby red color with an intense bouquet of cherry and raspberry fruits, along with hints of violet and tobacco. Smooth and well-structured on the palate with soft, well-integrated tannins and a persistent finish. 85% Sangiovese, with 10% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
