A solid, muscular red from Tuscany, this is the greatest Solaia ever made. Dark ruby in color, with extremely ripe raisin and spice aromas. Full-bodied and very chewy, with loads of polished tannins and a long, long finish that's big and fruity Best after 2004.
This solid Solaia has a god dark ruby color, with berry, tobacco and a hint of mint to its character. It's medium-bodied, boasts a solid core of fruit and polished tannins. Long finish. Meeds bottle age; best after 2000.
Always a voluptuous and rounded red. Gorgeous blackberry, black currant and lead pencil aromas. Full-bodied, with well integrated, soft tannins. Long, fruity aftertaste. Best after 2000.
Perhaps the greatest Solaia yet made, it rivals the outstanding 1985 the sensational, opaque blue/purple-colored 1997 exhibits a complex nose of cedar, cigar box, cassis, and subtle oak and reveals extraordinary concentration, a thick, viscous texture, yet no sense of heaviness or ponderousness. It is a thrilling Solaia to consume of the next two decades. If a first-growth Pauillac were made in Tuscany, this would be it!
Rich aromas of smoke, sage and ripe fruit follow to a full-bodied palate, with big, velvety, chewy tannins and a long, mouth puckering finish. This needs time. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. Best after 2005.
Dark in color, with intense aromas of blackberries and fresh herbs, such as basil, with a hint of eucalyptus. Full-bodied, with extremely well-polished tannins and a long, long finish. A tight and racy young wine that needs time to come into its own. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. Best after 2005.
Medium to full garnet. Enticing perfume of cedar, sweet incense, pipe tobacco and Indian spices. Warm and generous on the palate, with focused raspberry flavors framed by mouthcoating tannins. Dark berry fruit and minty overtones accompany the long finish.
Intense ruby red color and immediate classic, fruity aromas that are in perfect harmony with the vanilla and chocolate notes from the oak. Solaia 2006 is powerful on the palate, with a tannic texture, yet remaining smooth, with a very long finish, after time in the glass. Intense aftertaste of ripe blackberry and cherry fruit and a seemingly endless finish.
