Antinori Rosso Toscana 2011
Love this Paso Robles Rhone white blend. Loads of tongue coating layers, ripe pear, peach, clove, spice, white chocolate, fantastic balance and a long finish.
Well this is probably the firs time I give an absolute score to wine. Unlike most Italian wines this one has a huge tight aroma full of dark red fruits (thanks to merlot probably)! fullbodied, expressive wine with long aftertaste. This is perfectly balanced wine for a good price. I just love it! There was also a label on the bottle says "it's perfect for cheese and appetizers" (check pictures)... and I would say the best pairing for this wine is hard cheese.
The wine opens with a ruby red color with violet tinges. It has a full and intense fragrance with hints of red fruit which bring to mind cherries and raspberries. On the palate the wine is smooth and well-balanced. The finish is characterized by gentle tannins and the persistent flavor of the grapes which make is so delicious and easy to drink. -The Winery
Tastes like a Pinot Grigio. Not bad but not interesting either. Usual pear flavor. Thin bodied.

Made with Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot, the 2011 Guidalberto opens to dark, rich concentration and beautiful aromatic intensity. As I noted last spring when reporting on the 2010s from the domaine the Taupenot parcel in Rognet was also replanted in the mid-1970s and the vines are in their prime. The 2011 Rognet was again a bit shaken from its recent mise but should prove to be outstanding with a decades worth of bottle age. The youthful nose is a fine blend of red and black cherries woodsmoke venison a fine base of soil herbs nutskins and a touch of spicy oak. On the palate the wine is deep full-bodied and very soil-driven with a rock solid core ripe firm tannins and a very long closed and primary finish. This will be excellent. 2024-2060+. John Gilman.
As the domaines parcels in Charmes and Mazoyhres are quite different in age (thirty years for the Charmes and fifty years of age for the Mazoyhres) so the domaine has bottled the two wines separately. The 2011 Charmes was showing quite well after its recent botltings jumping from the glass in a milange of black cherries plums grilled meats herb tones a lovely base of soil French roast and spicy wood. On the palate the wine is deep full-bodied pure and focused with firm tannins tangy acids and a long primary and classy finish. This will be superb. 2022-2060. John Gilman.
Ruby red in colour; on the nose, intense bouquet of mature fruits; on the palate well structured, harmonious, soft and very pleasing.
One can enjoy the view of this beautiful panorama from the new Santa Cristina winery, which came into existence in 2006 with the goal of acknowledging and renewing the tradition of the wine known by the same name.
An intense nose of dark cherries and currants with brown sugar, maple and slightly toasted aromas courtesy of new oak barrels.
