Great wine...great upfront...all round fabulous wine
A blend of 60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5% Syrah. This wine needs decanting for at least 1 hr to bring out the bouquet and soften its tanins a bit. Deep rich red color. Nice on the nose with aromas of berries, currant and wood. Soft on the palate with a good finish and black fruit and vanilla taste. A really good deal for a tuscany wine at this price range. Cheers
This was a pleasant surprise. For less than $10, it provided quite a few classic Bordeaux flavors. Great ripe cherry, red plums, cassis and just a hint of leather come through on both the nose and palate. Ripe and full in the mouth. A nice old world style with a hint of new world fruit.
Nice and balanced. Would be great with lean meat.

Beautiful plum, berry and raspberry aromas follow through to a full-bodied palate, with refined tannins and a long, caressing finish. Very nicely done. Best after 2009.
Having exploded in quality, the 2003 is now much more massive, concentrated, and powerful than it was a year ago. Now one of the top right bank wines of the vintage, it exhibits a dense purple color as well as a bold, dramatic fragrance of melted chocolate, expresso roast, smoke, plums, blackberries, and black currants. Full-bodied and rich, with low acidity, high tannin, loads of glycerin, and massive, multilayered flavors, this brilliant effort (tasted on three separate occasions) reminded me of the prodigious 1990. Anticipated maturity: 2009–2022.
This favorite of ours comes from the very heart of Bordeaux’s Graves district, and is a generous blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged 12 to 18 months in barrel. The strength of this wine lies in its complexity of chocolate, cedar and coffee aromas and flavors.

This superb estate, run with impeccable attention to detail by Christine Valette, has produced a formidable, backward wine that will require considerable cellaring. When St.-Emilion’s new classification is announced in several months, it will be a crime if Troplong is not promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classe status. Even by Bordeaux standards this is a weighty vin du garde, with huge density, a backward, masculine style, an inky dark ruby/purple hue, and subtle notions of white chocolate, expresso roast, plums, blackberries, and currants. Full-bodied, powerful, and “closed for business” at present, it exhibits beautiful purity, stunning depth, and a long, persistent finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2025+.
