Paid $16 for this Malbec. Nice subdued nose with some cherry & burnt spice notes. Opens a little tart, with cherry and raspberry flavors. But this wine has a nice, rough bitterness on the top of the tongue and a long bitter finish, reminiscent of endive, fennel, and the like. Only complaint is it's a bit acidic, which tends to counteract the otherwise well developed flavors. As such, it ends up feeling a little thin despite some really good potential. Maybe it's already spent too long on the shelf?
Great overall wine, works well with beef, pork, and hearty seafoods
Three and a half glasses
