Antico Colle Rosso di Montepulciano 2006
Deep ruby color w/garnet hues; elegant bouquet: leather, black cherries, licorice + plums; medium to full palate where ripe red fruit, gout de terroir, subtle notes of vanilla + violets harmonize and linger, interlacing w/the soft tannins + silky texture. Firm backbone, ideal balance.
I picked this bottle up at Costco and have to say that I rarely pour out a bottle of wine, but couldn't stand this bottle. It has a wonderful jammy bouquet, but has no body. There was very little taste and it imparted a bitter, almost sour taste on the back of my tongue. I put it in the decanter and tried it again today, but nothing seemed to help. After looking at the other reviews here I'll try it again as people seemed to like it, and will change my review if on 2nd taste my opinion changes.
Rating 86 Akltough the nose is long and complex the excessive fruit acid makes this wine unbalanced. the underlying structure is very good. I considered this not to be a bargain !!
I could taste the grapes individually. The next day, the blend was there along with an incredibly dry mouth feel. Water chaser needed on day 2.
Cedar/oak nose. Light but well balanced. Recommend and would serve. Make sure dish doesn't overwhelm wine.
Very easy drinking, with a terrific nose. Nice fruit, but not jammy at all, with tannins to give it a pleasant bite. Kind of earthy with a bit of an herbal thing going on. I would probably pair this with a slightly sweet red sauce and pasta. Or maybe grilled lamb. Terrific QPR at $10 or so.
Bright cherries on the nose with a bit of herbs. Plum and violets flavors, with good tannins and an herbaciousness towards the end, although the short finish falls short of pushing this into the 90s.
A little spice in the pleasant aroma. Some juicy sweetness up front, with a dash of prune and bruised grapes. The finish is moderately tart with some warmth. Like Coastalcorks said, the tannins are pretty light and it is nice with pasta - that is how I tried it too.

Dunkles, sattes Rubingranat. In der Nase schöne Aromen nach roten Kirschen, Pflaumen, Mocca und Sandelholz. Wirkt noch sehr jugendlich und kompakt. Mineralische Würze und ein Hauch von Toastnoten lassen ihn komplex und tief erscheinen. Am Gaumen überzeugt der Supremus mit Eleganz und Struktur. Seidige, feinkörnige Tannine begleitet von einer stützenden Frische erzeugen Spannung und Länge. Die Aromen bestätigen sich; rote Kirschen, Vanillenoten und Mocca. Der Abgang ist lang und anhaltend mit Noten nach Lakritze und getrockneten Feigen.
