Had a chance to taste this again recently (October 2009) and was very impressed. Delicious fruit up front (dark cherries and a little plum) with subtle yet firm tannin on the finish. Balance was excellent and it drank well over two days. Can be hard to find but worth the effort.

On a recent trip to Napa boutique wineries, this juicy, seductive and mouthwatering star stole the show. With a little dark chocolate it cannot be beat.

Just a delight to drink. Dark, intense, berries, aromas, mouthfeel and finish.

On a recent trip to Napa boutique wineries, this juicy, seductive and mouthwatering star came up second only to it's 2004 younger brother. Suggest decanting for an hour or two as it's a little tight. Can see this maturing to it's full potential in 4-5 years.

A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2009 Anomaly Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

This big, strong Cabernet insists on pushing its blackberry, currant, plum and cocoa flavors across the palate. It's not subtle, and doesn't apologize for it. The grapes are from various vineyards in St. Helena, a warmer part of Napa Valley, and you ... Wine Enthusiast. The 2004's superior is the very Bordeaux-like yet fuller-bodied 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which shows fruit purity, some licorice-infused black currant and cedar notes, with medium to full body, good spiciness, and depth. This wine is still young but ... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2005 Anomaly Cabernet Sauvignon 3000ml

The 2004 exhibits deep ruby/purple fruit and an elegant nose of black currants, cedar, and spice box with a whiff of bay leaf and earth. It is ripe, medium to full-bodied, but overall, relatively elegant. Drink it over the next 10 years. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Anomaly is located at the base of the western hills of the Napa Valley in the town of St. Helena and is owned by Steve and Linda Goldfarb (no relation). The winemaker is Mark Porembski, who sourced the fruit for this wine from the Bella Vista Vineyard and from five acres of the Indee’s Vineyard, both located in St. Helena. The Bella Vista site, east and adjacent to the winery, was planted nine years ago, and is Clone 7. Indee’s Cabernet was first planted in 2000 and is clones 4 and 337. Indee’s also contributed the Franc and Petit Verdot in this blend. Here we have a wine with lovely and perfumed aromas, which translate to a silky, elegant mix that is round and smooth. Hold onto it for a year and then drink it over the next dozen. For this wine, Porembski also utilized 100 percent Margaux-style French oak (although I’m not sure how much was new). The listed alcohol is 14.2 percent, and there were just 740 cases made.

Scents of jasmine invite the drinker in, as notes of peppermint stick, hazelnut, and licorice combine to create a distinctly marzipan aroma. The bouquet further exhibits hints of zest and clean note of flint and wet stone. In the palate, a viscous, yet delicate introduction leads to a round and broad mouth-feel with flavors of huckleberry and baking spices. The 2003 features a classic structure, providing a vital and balanced foundation for the wine. The supple tannins are easily approached and lead to Anomaly's signature, velvety finish.
