Annie's Lane Red Rhone Blend Clare Valley Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre Copper Trail 2000

Winemaker's Notes:

The Annie’s Lane Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre is a traditional dry red style produced only when all three varieties have a good vintage. This wine displays a myriad of aromas dominated with sweet berry fruit, licorice and cinnamon/spice. The palate is full of blackcurrant and blackberry with essences of eucalyptus and tea. The ripe berry fruit and velvet like tannins deliver a full and long lasting finish. Blend: 57% Shiraz, 32% Grenache, 11% Mourvedre

Annie's Lane:
Annie Wayman was a legend in the Clare Valley. She could always be relied upon to bring along sandwiches and a warm drink to harvesters and pruners in the vineyard at the turn of the 20th century. One evening, Annie's horse and cart got bogged in a lane adjacent to one of the valley's best vineyards. Thus, Annie's Lane was born.
