What to Expect

Pinot Grigio is one of the world's most popular wines. Also known under the French moniker "Pinot Gris", and even the German "Ruländer" among others, Pinot Grigio is a chameleon of a grape. It is produced in a range of styles, from the light fruity Italian style that has gained popularity, to a more mineral, flinty rich wine favored by the French - particularly in Alsace - and emulated by many in the new world.

Winemakers Notes

Pale white-gold in color, the 2008 Pinot Gris enlivens the senses with aromas of citrus, crisp stone-fruits and wild flowers. The palate reveals impeccable balance and focus, bursting with bright lemon, grapefruit and satisfying hints of cream soda that is followed by a clean, elegant minerality characterizing our Estate Vineyards. Finishing bright and refreshing, hints of candied green apples linger, making the 2008 Pinot Gris a delightful match to shellfish, herb-roasted chicken and fine cheeses.

Reviews

This is not your typical American watered down Pinot Gris. This is a well-crafted wine that has been lovingly made with respect to what the Pinot Gris varietal can offer.

Don't let its pale yellow color fool you. Exhibiting cinnamon-pears, green apples and wet stone on the nose, it has a refreshing amount out of food friendly acidity and crisp feel in the mouth. The flavors include asian pears, citrus, peaches, with a hint of minerals and ripe peaches on the finish.

I had this wine with a delicate melon salad with a light caesar dressing and a cucumber wrapped Ahi Tuna and read more...
