Angelo Gaja Promis 2007
Light garnet color. Bright and fruity with a jammy nose. A delightful wine that combines the elegance and suppleness of Merlot and Syrah with the austerity of Sangiovese. Balanced, almost musical, its a pleasure to drink from an early age and also has an aging potential of 5-8 years.
01/15/11: had it at Bricco in the North End. Complex wine where the fruit seems to sit somewhere between the old and the new world. Had it with grilled octopus and rib eye. Not sure I loved it for the price. Soft tannins and pleasant to drink. Medium bodied with cassis. Not sure I would drink again for the price.
This was a fantastic bottle. It was shared with great friends while eating good food. This is a garnet colored wine with a wonderful nose of dark fruits and dried cherry. Very well balanced and great mouth feel.
Very cool mineral nose. Smooth entry, with a balanced mineral taste. Mineral throughout with a vanilla bean flavor. Cassis and cranberry on the finish.
colour - light garnet, long legs bouquet - fruity, jammy, roast coffee taste - med body, well balanced grape mixture good to drink at a early age. 5-8 years aging potential
Delicious blend, comparable to other "super-Tuscans", like Tignanello.
A tipical medio toscan taste. soft entrance, rich yet not enough powerfull, mild ending. There are much better toscans for half its price.

Along the Tuscan seaboard extending south from Livorno lies the Maremma. For centuries a marshland, it has established itself over the last quarter century as one of Italy's most prestigious wine regions. It is in this region that Angelo Gaja has begun his new winemaking venture. In 1996, along the road between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, Gaja began planting 150 acres of vineyards, primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but also Cabernet Franc and Syrah. Wine Spectator scored it 90 points and said "Bursting with pure, sweet blackberry, black cherry and spice flavors, this is not overoaked, offering a vibrant structure, with firm tannins on the finish and nice length. Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese. Drink now through 2016"
Weingut: Angelo GajaRegion: ToskanaRebsorte: 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah, 10% SangioveseInhalt: 0,75 lFassreife: in Barriques gereift (18 Monate) empfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16-18 °CLagerfähigkeit: 7-10 Jahre ab Jahrgang Suche nach Rebsorten > Rote Rebsorten > Syrah

Best after 2011."
