Clear, very pale color. Very grassy nose, some astringency. Wow, if ever there was an example of the New Zealand SB style move into California this is it. Tons of grapefruit flavor in addition to grassiness. Grapefruit flavor means acid, and this wine has it. Very crisp and very refreshing, but still a touch of fruity sweetness. I'm sure that many people would be put off by this wine, but I like it..

I bought this bottle and a bottle of the 05 Chard on a whim from my mother. Although not as intense in acidity or citrus flavor as my favorite New Zealand wines, it has a greater flavor and balance than the typical California SB. I find most California SBs to be extremely light and washed out, like cheap Pinot Grigio. It was not overly acidic or overbearing with any particular flavor. Nothing jumps out at you either, it is just a nice, balanced light white for a warm summer day. While not as great a value as the NZ SBs, this was a good bottle at $12.99, better if you can get it for less.

Winemakers Notes - Our Angeline Sauvignon Blanc is the ideal refresher for warm weather and sunny days. This Sauvignon Blanc receives cool, slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks for four months to maximize fruit character. Fresh floral, honeydew melon and bright tropical aromas lead to crisp and lively fresh green melon, Asian pear, green apple and citrus spice flavors. This wine finishes soft and light with a lingering touch of citrus.

Pleasant and softly juicy, featuring green papaya, melon and lime peel flavors that show modest depth but are nicely refreshing on the finish. Drink now.

If there’s any oak on this wine, it doesn’t show. What does show up is crisply clean acidity and brilliantly ripe pineapple, lime and honeysuckle flavors, brightened with crisp acidity. It’s a lovely cocktail sipper, and nice with bruschetta and olive or mushroom tapenade.

This wineandrsquo;s clean flavors of lime pith and peach fuzz have a pleasing roundness rather than a tight grip. A simple white to chill for grilled prawns.
