The Champoux Vineyard, planted in 1972, is five miles from the Columbia River. Here, the cooling breezes of the Columbia River Gorge never cease, creating the perfect conditions for ripening grapes. Right now, this wine is showing many layers of intense flavors - notes of licorice, blackberry, and tobacco - but it will continue to evolve and be expressive for many years to come.

93 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): ...43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Cabernet Franc, 11% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot... combination of richness and textural polish... Both blond and smoky Latakia tobaccos join black raspberry, purple plum and cassis, which are shadowed by their high-toned distilled essences. Hints of vanilla and nutmeg... are subtly complementary, while a saline savor grows in this beauty's long finish... Expect this to excel for a decade... (Dec 2012)
