André et Michel Quenard Vin de Savoie les Abymes 2009

Member Review by dynowine:

Very clean and not much obvious wood and funk often found in Euro white wines. Once again, this is posted in CT as the roussanne grape rather than Jacquere, which I believe it is, not sure if these are the same. Nose of light lemon with a hint of mint or minty herb. Firm acid on the attack with light to medium fruit (lemon-nectarine). Finishes of distinct mineral and fading fruit. Leans to the acid side but still refreshing with tastes of mineral. Would be a great wine for hot days. Dry to off-dry. Body medium or medium minus, acid medium.

At the tasting I was told this was the jacquere grape (never tried before). Clean, elegant, light, and well-balanced. Mild nose of grass, mineral (stone or slate), citrus. In the mouth grassy, light, citrus (lemon) with slight creaminess and wood. Short finish of same. No acid kick. Mild glycerin in the body. Off dry. Body medium, acid medium minus.
