Full-bodied, with cedar, fresh crushed spices, hint of saddle leather. Very complex.

WA 95+pts - According to Robert Parker - The 2006 Eloge s dark plum/ruby color is followed by a sweet kiss of plum, black cherry, earth, licorice, and spice box, a medium to full-bodied wine, abundant tannin, and impressive concentration, purity, and overall complexity. Reasonably evolved, and extremely seductive aromatically, with a slightly structured finish, it can be enjoyed now and over the next 15 years. It is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot, and 3% Merlot.

The 2006 Eloge is nearly as profound. A slightly different blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot, the wine is full-bodied, gamey, and earthy, displaying tremendous ripeness and stunning aromatics of underbrush, bay leaf, creme de cassis, mint, and almost a kitchen shelf of spices. Fragrant, full-bodied, with stunning concentration, admirable purity, and terrific ripeness and length, this is a rather remarkable effort in a tannic, muscular vintage such as 2006.
