User Reviews for Anakena Chardonnay Rapel Valley
Add your reviewBought this wine when I was visiting in Florida. Totally forgot about it until now. A light straw color, aroma of tropical fruits with orange and melon more dominate. On the palate the fruits came out but were muted. Because of the color, I was looking for oak but it wasn't there. Enough acid makes this a nice food wine but can do well on its own. I thought I was drinking a more expensive Chardonnay.
Gold straw like colour. On the nose slight Apricots and Oranges although not jumping out, a little buttery. It was a fairly muted smell. and I think the overriding aroma from being a unoaked wine was that of citrus fruits. Taste was very acidic but in a good way, fresh and the fruits were very evident especially Oranges. The alcohol came through after but didn't ruin the taste.
Chardonnay is my favorite and this one as well, but with a hint of Apricot - although a bit more acidic but exquisite.
I picked this up at Total Wine in Atlanta while I was there on business. I liked the little blurb (which I cannot remember now) so I bought it. I really like this wine. It is much more acidic than your usual Chardonnay. The apricot taste is very apparent from the first sip. It was an unusual surprise.
