This estate was already well known in 1793 under the name of Casino Castorani and in 2000, it was purchased by Formula 1 Driver Jarno Trulli. Currently 32 hectares are planted with an average age of vines being 25 years old and grapes are farmed organically thanks to their location at 300 metres where a cooling wind through the vineyards helps to maintain the vines natural health. Jarno Trulli particularly appreciates Great Italian Wines and is delighted with the wines which bear his name. "Ive always sought perfection in everything I do: in a racing car, where split seconds make the difference; and in the vineyard, where it has taken years of hard work to give our wine its special character and originality" Vintage: 2009 Grapes: 100% Estate grown Pecorino grapes Exposure: South, south-west facing Harvest: Manually in mid September Training: Vertical trellis Vinification; Initial cold maceration (pre-fermentation) for 12 hours, soft pressing in basket presses, low temperature fermentation in temperature controlled vats. The wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in tank for 4-5 months on its fine lees. Colour: Intense straw yellow Taste: Made from 100% pecorino, a regional varietal. This wine shows an unmistakable character of ripe pears, and exotic fruits on the nose. The palate is well structured with citrus notes.
