Amisfield Pinot Noir Central Otago 2007
Amisfield Farm is located 7km north of Lowburn near the shores of Lake Dunstan in Central Otago. Amisfield have 60 hectares of vineyards. High altitude, cool climate, long summers, and clean soils allow the winery to produce some of the best Pinot Noirs and aromatic white wines in New Zealand. Yields are kept low to provide concentrated fruit flavour with complexity derived from the range of sites within the vineyard. The winemaking approach is one of minimal intervention. Supple and concentrated, Amisfield Pinot Noir shows the complexity, concentration and texture of great new world Pinot Noir. This is classic Central Otago Pinot with dark rich fruits, spicy aromas and undertones of liquorice and smoke. Finished in a rich palate with fine silky tannins. This wine will only improve with careful cellaring for up to 5 years, but hard to resist when drinking superbly on release.
