External Reviews for Amayna Syrah
The first Syrah to be produced in Chile's Leyda Valley. The granite soil and marine climate result in intense violet color and notes of dark and red fruit that harmoniously blend with the French oak. On the palate, spicy fresh, with great character. Amayna, which translates as "the calm after the storm," is only 14km from the Pacific, giving its vineyards a maritime climate which is reflected in the fresh and pure style of the Syrah. Leyda is located in a valley that lies between the Coastal Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean and runs parallel to Chile's Central Valley. Its gentle coastal hills are characterized by poor soils and very dry climate. The climate is characterized by its well-defined seasons and a low day-night temperatures differential due to the maritime influence.
