Amayna Sauvignon Blanc 2011
The poor soils and gentle ocean breezes create tremendous aromatic potential and the great intensity reflected in the wine's floral aromas and fresh, exotic fruit. A full, balanced wine with personality and exquisite elegance. Aging potential: 3 years. Serving suggestion: Ideal with goat cheese, shellfish, oysters and mild fish.
External Reviews for Amayna Sauvignon Blanc
Even with three years of bottle age, this sauvignon retains plenty of youthful energy. It smells fresh, citrusy and rich with tropical fruit flavors; those notes are projected in the flavor with enough depth to support oysters au gratin. Amayna is one of the pioneers of the San Antonio Valley, with vineyards dating to 1999.
The 2011 Sauvignon Blanc undergoes some lees ageing. It has a fine, crisp, citrus nose that is lively and joyful, avoiding any herbaceous notes. The palate is well balanced with subtle tropical tones, crisp acidity and a well-balanced grapefruit and melon finish. This is a fine Sauvignon. Drink now–2015.
