On the nose the Amarone has aromas of blueberry, ripe cherry, caramel, cinnamon and smoke. There are probably 10 other aromas in this very complex and complete bouquet. Just by smelling the wine I could feel how perfect the wine was. After taking a zip I noticed who extremely mellow & pleasing the tannins were. It was incredible. Amarone was fruity, too and I was able to to taste blueberry, dark chocolate and blackcurrant. The wine has a big body and is more than just complete. It's probably the best it can go. Amarone from Trabucchi is so harmonic and smooth on the palate that I can't even describe it A very complex wine. Might as well been one of the best wines I've ever drank if not the best. On a few occasions I tried this Amarone before and every time I had it I was like "this is it - the perfect wine!" This staff favorite hails from the eastern part of the Valpolicella sub-region. Made from some well-loved grapes indigenous to the area (Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara, Rondinella) as well as some not-so-common ones (Croatina, Dindarella, Forsellina, Oseleta, and Rossignola), this is a dry, voluptuous, concentrated red wine with flavors of dark berries and currants.
