Amarone la Fabriseria 2003
This wine is made from a selection of grapes coming from three vineyards located in three different Valpolicella valleys. Corvina is harvested in the Marano valley, Rondinella in the Negrar valley and Corvinone in the Fumane valley. We have tried to get the best exposures from the best terrain (the sources of our grapes) most suited to our different varieties. This Amarone is the fruit of Renzo Tedeschi's passion for good wine and his constant desire to search for the best. The nose shows aging aromas such as roasting, vanilla and tobacco together with red fruits such as red currants, raspberries and cherries under spirits. Notes of honey and alcohol make this quite special and, at the same time, a classic Amarone. It has an elegant and strong structure with good acidity and the fruity characteristics of wine that is still young. This wine has an exceptionally long and persistent flavor.
Our Tasting Room is located in the historic King's Cottage, built in 1974 for King David Kalakaua. Sample our award winning wines made from wine grapes harvested at the vineyard right here on the ranch. A must-try is our deliciously unique pineapple wine. Fantastic wines. Vintage 2003 is ready to drink and a most pleasant drink it is. Description of the wine Color Strong ruby red. Clear and transparent Bouquet Notes of vanilla and ethereal airs depending on the period of aging in the barrel; notes of sweet fruits such as currants, blueberries, cherries depending on the varieties of grape. Flavor Strong, rounded and warm structure. This is a well-balanced wine. After-taste confirms the notes in the bouquet. It has an enduring and persistent flavor.
The nose was dark and rich, showing crushed cherry, earthy minerals and sweet floral notes. On the palate, it was velvety, but not heavy, with intense black cherry extract, chocolate and hints of pepper. The long sweet-and-sour finish lingered for over a minute with flavors of cherry sauce and spice. (93 points)
