Amarone Della Valpolicella Terra del Galante Trabucchi d'Illasi 2007

Member Review by vino in love:

Prior to drinking the wine was decanted for 2 hours. In the glass the Terre del Galante had an intense ruby red color with purple reflexes. On the nose there were a lot of aromas. Red fruits like raspberry and ripe cherry, a bit of vanilla, some chocolate and spices. There was a little bit of oak, too. Alcohol by volume was label listed at 14.5%. On the palate Terre del Galante was a bit fruity and a little tannic. The wine had a large body and was complex. I tasted ripe cherry, cinnamon, oak, caramel and more. A harmonic combination that conveyed a warming feeling. I had the impression that the wine's tannins were more aggressive than the ones of the Amarone 2006. The wine might have been a few years too young but hey don't get me wrong here, the wine was still pretty complete and almost as perfect as Trabucchi's 'regular' Amarone della Valpolicella. I guess I became a fan of wines with many grape varietals mixed. This time this is again a blend of 6 varietals. Also, this is my first 5 of 5 rating for a wine here on Snooth.
