Amarone Della Valpolicella DOC Classico 2004

I agree with Wine.com's review. The bouquet was very rich full of dried fruit and spices. It reminded me of a berry fruitcake! The best part was how full and smooth this wine was in the mouth. Nice finish. This was a unique experience to taste something so bold yet so smooth!
Bright red cherry and raspberry notes abound with some very nice balanced acidity. Subtle dark fruit with elegant, soft oak.
The unique aging process on this bottle is evident throughout the tasting. Smells of deep black cherry lead to a nicely fruited wine with great balance and flavor.
Four and a half glasses

Wine Drinkers: Consider Amarone/ While it's that easy to find Amarones that retail for more than $100 a bottle, there are some good ones priced much lower. Some of my favorites include the 1996 Bertani Amarone.
2005 Tre Bicchieri ("Three Glasses") Selections Include Ten Top Wines from Palm Bay Imports/
Gentle Wines from Verona/ This wine is a deep garnet red, with aromas of cherries, sweet pipe tobacco, vanilla and a light touch of spice. On the palate, the rich, mouthfilling textures sport cherries, vanilla, and chocolate, held aloft with a thread of eucalpytus and hazelnut. The long finish multiplies the enjoyment of this wine and lingers for several minutes on the palate.
Vintages: The 1990s/ A difficult, rainy and late vintage with a wet and humid drying season. Bertani's Amarone stood out.
Cellar Dweller - The Oenophile's Giving Guide - 1997/ Wine can make a great present, no matter if the recipient is a buff or a novice. Here are some choices for every palate. For drinkers who deserve more because they always give you thoughtful gifts: 1968 and 1973 Bertani Amarone: This excellent winery offers both bottles in an attractive wooden gift box. Amarone ages wonderfully, so these wines will delight anyone with a wine cellar.
/ For those chilly nights, a Bertani Amarone will be just what the wine doctor ordered.
