Bertani, which just recently celebrated its 150th anniversary, was founded in 1857 by brothers Gaetano and Giovan Battista Bertani. Prosperous wine merchants who believed that quality winemaking held the key to the future, the Bertanis invested their funds in buying some of the finest vineyards in the province and making their own wines. Consequently, unlike many other local producers, Bertani owns its own vineyards and so is able to oversee the entire winemaking cycle from start to finish and their wines are considered some of the absolute best in the region. This 1967 vintage shows the extraordinary ability for this wine to age and improve over many years. This is a rare and exquisite wine with velvety softness and complex layers of flavor. Very Limited!

The wine has a deep, dark garnet colour. The classical cherry flavours of Amarone are immediately perceptible to the nose, with the preponderant notes of Marasca and sour cherry. The wine presents a great variety of characters, from fresh fruit to jamlike tones, which offer a very harmonious aftertaste, alternating with spicy elements. The ample nose has a sweet impact and spreads in a continuous chain of sensations. The wine opens up in the mouth with aftertastes of all the red-berry fruits, besides vanilla on soft, heavy-duty cloth.

Unlike many other local producers in the Valpolicella region, Bertani owns its own vineyards and Bertani's harvest originates entirely in the firm's own vineyards. Made from Corvina Veronese 70%, Rondinella 25%, Molinara 5% grapes, this full-bodied, dense garnet colored wine tastes of all the red-berry fruits plus a touch of vanilla.
