Gentle Wines from Verona/ This wine is a deep garnet red, with aromas of cherries, sweet pipe tobacco, vanilla and a light touch of spice. On the palate, the rich, mouthfilling textures sport cherries, vanilla, and chocolate, held aloft with a thread of eucalpytus and hazelnut. The long finish multiplies the enjoyment of this wine and lingers for several minutes on the palate.
Best Wines Tasted in 2005/ A mixture of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara. A powerful red wine, made from partially dried grapes to concentrate the color and aromas. Rich, smooth and wonderfully mouth filling with aromas of ripe red fruits. It has an alluring raisiny flavor, which adds an almost port-like taste. Ready to drink now, could improve for the next 4 to 6 years.
2005 Tre Bicchieri ("Three Glasses") Selections Include Ten Top Wines from Palm Bay Imports/
Valpolicella's Treasures/ Reserved, floral scents of cherry, dust and cedar. Lean in the mouth with very good balance. Flavors of red cherry, citrus, coffee and bittersweet chocolate sweeten up a big with airing.
Winemaker's Notes:
The Tedeschi family has dedicated its energy and enthusiasm to growing and producing wine in Valpolicella for many generations. They first purchased vineyards in the area in 1630. Today the Tedeschi family manages 74 hectares of vineyards, of which 29 hectares are family owned. Although Tedeschi is considered one of the top producers of Amarone and Recioto wines, the family has never rested on its laurels, continually striving to improve the structure of the wine by keeping the vines' yields low. They produce four distinct ranges: Linea Classica; Valpolicella, Amarone and Recioto, and Linea Fabriseria Awards from national and international competitions are testimony to the family's uninterrupted search for refinement. Vintage: 2006 Grapes: 30% Corvina, 30% Rondinella, 30% Corvinone, 10% Molinara Region: From vineyards on the hills around Pedemonte, in the heart of the "classic" Valpolicella area. Notes: Deep red colour, this wine has a full bouquet showing vanilla and sweet fruits with a velvety mouthfeel and rich, raisiny flavours. Ageing: 3 years in Slavonian oak barrels followed by a further 6 months in bottle prior to release. Serve: At 16-18C with a combination of red meats and cheese.
