Luscious bouquet of black cherry, blackberry, and even hoi sin sauce, showing more cabernet than malbec and a tiny touch of funk, but the high note of malbec dominates in the mouth; it’s an odd contrast that may work well with strong cheeses, especially from goat’s milk. The nose is a touch bretty and rustic, but airing reveals stout fruit and structure. The flavor profile revolves around ripe plum and berry, while coffee and a touch of heat and alcohol work the finish. Another year in the bottle would not hurt this wine.
