Nose of "sweet plumberry pineapple cake"? for lack of a better word. There is something very familiar about the nose that I can't quite wrap my brain around -- very distinctive. I've never smelled this from wine -- but the aroma reminds me of something sugary from my youth. At any rate, it is very different, at the same time very enjoyable! Maybe candy apple! Taste on Day 1 picks up some of the nose in its flavor, but is more zinfandel like in the mid-palate and finish. Very nice wine, and ready to drink. Terrific QPR too at just under $10 a bottle. I am curious to see how this evolves over the next couple of days. [92]
