Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Gary Farrell sold his winery, of the same name, and created "Alysian" to get back to the roots of what he originally set out to accomplish in wine. His main focus is Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley. This bottle is his inaugural debut of the Chardonnay vintage. This wine was the first of the Hamann wedding prix fixe menu. Phenomenal! Everything a Chardonnay could ever achieve in the overall performance, including: bouquet, color, taste, balance, back-end, and finish. True wine amazement.

Winemaker's Notes:

91 points Connoisseurs' Guide: From the very first sniff through to its long, crisply balanced finish, this vital, carefully structured young wine exhibits a particularly fine sense of proportion as regards its mix of perfectly ripened apples, toast and creamy oak. As rich as it may be, however, it possesses a real sense of refinement and grace, and, while there should be no absolutely doubts about its ability to grow into better with time, we admit that it will be tempting to pull a few corks early on. (Nov 2009)
