Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

This plush, dense red shows coffee and spicy oak, with berry and wild plum fruit and accents of licorice and black pepper. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, and this finishes warm and spicy. Modern and alluring. Drink now through 2012. 600 cases made.`-Wine Spectator 92 Points`Deep ruby with a bright rim. Impressively complex, seductive bouquet of dark berry preserves, tobacco, graphite and smoky Indian spices. Pliant black raspberry and candied cherry flavors are enlivened by zesty minerals and firmed by fine-grained tannins. An exotic floral pastille quality emerges with air and carries into the finish, which is strikingly sweet, lively and persistent. I can't believe that this wine bears the touch of the same guy who is partially responsible for inflicting Australia's R wines on us.`-Josh Reynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 93 Points

This 100% Garnacha (Grenache) from the up-and-coming hot, dry region of Campo de Borja offers a screaming 15.5% alcohol content but is remarkably self-contained, considering it is practically port-strength. The aromatics are almost scary: wood smoke, Mediterranean wild herbs, farmyard animal and garrigue... The fruit is intense and gripping, held together with a tight, bright acidity and impressive length, exuding barbecued or grilled meats, cloves and crushed black peppercorn. Stunning, and not for the faint of heart. 15.5% abv, 95 points. As of July 2008, this wine is not yet on the market, it's from a pre-release tasting.

Not as big and bold as the 2005 but still a big bang for your buck. I powerful and flavorful wine from start to finish. Less complex and titillating as the former yet can still hold it own. I would say its just a little spicier less pungent, others may enjoy a more smooth experience but don be surprised if you just up and finish the bottle and order another.

Saturated ruby. Very spicy on the nose, which displays blackberry, blueberry, white pepper and cinnamon qualities. Saturated ruby. Very spicy on the nose, which displays blackberry, blueberry, white pepper and cinnamon qualities. Sappy dark berry flavors combine intensity with depth, picking up candied licorice with air. Turns sweeter on the finish, which leaves an exotic floral note behind. This went through multiple changes in the glass and is utterly delicious now.

The purple-colored 2006 Alto Moncayo was aged in new French and American oak for 17 months before bottling without filtration. It offers up a sexy concoction of toasty new oak, lavender, spice box, cassis, and black raspberry. Round, rich, and voluptuous on the palate, it delivers plenty of up-front pleasure but hides enough ripe tannin to evolve for a few years. It can be enjoyed now and over the next decade.
