Altamura Sangiovese Napa Valley 2003
The 2003 Sangiovese exhibits beautiful dark almost opaque magenta color and complex aromas of saddle leather layered with brooding fruit. The palate delivers concentrated dark berries, cocoa dust, plum and Bing cherry. The well integrated tannins carry a lengthy finish. This is a serious wine that promises to age gracefully.
Frank Altamura’s passion for detail is clearly defined by his richly textured, highly collectable wine. Founded in 1985 by Napa Valley natives Frank and Karen Altamura, Altamura Vineyards and Winery is located on a sprawling natural ranch on Wooden Valley Road in Napa Valley where estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese are meticulously produced.
