Alta Vista Rosé 2011
"The 2011 Alta Vista Premium Torrontes was harvested via three passes through the vineyard in Cafayate and such exacting standards show in this great wine. It has a boisterous, quasi-Gewurztraminer bouquet of lemon zest, barley sugar and apricot that leaps out of the glass. The palate is well-balanced with peach and elderflower on the entry, and expresses the varietal with some style. This is an effervescent, somehow life-affirming white wine...90" WA 10/12 "A floral white, displaying a mix of juicy orange, nectarine, spice and acacia flower notes that lead to the broad finish...." WS 08/12 "Pale, bright straw-yellow. White flowers and a whiff of curry powder on the nose. Supple, tactile and lightly saline, with a distinctly elegant quality to the subtle tropical fruit and ginger flavors. Bright, harmonious acidity carries the sappy, spicy finish. Serious torrontes with excellent texture and depth...90" IWC 04/12 "Sweet, tropical aromas lead the way, followed by notes of melon and vanilla. It feels fresh, with citrus and lychee flavors. The finish is tropical and green tasting, with nervy acidity...." WE 08/12
Disappointing. Great bouquet - floral and mineral. But can't get past the bitter/sour taste and aftertaste.

This wine has soft peach with a hint of armpit in the nose, but don’t be put off — the wine shows more intensity and complexity than your usual torrontes, with a spicy center surrounded by viscous honey.
This wine has deep purple hues. In the nose, it features spicy aromas with fresh, ripe fruits and animal notes. In the mouth, this wine shows a fresh attack and great openness as well as soft tannins and long finish.
In der Nase zeigt er ein Aroma aus Schokoladennoten und Pfeffer. Der Gaumen präsentiert sich mit einer ausgewogenen Balance. Er verfügt über viel Kraft und ein tolles Finish.
