Alpha Omega Unoaked Chardonnay Napa Valley 2012

Member Review by EMark:

Incredibly pale in the glass--close to water. Fairly floral nose. Initial palate sensation is tart. Then, some other things start to happen. Even though this wine is "unoaked" I sure seem to be detecting things that I would associate with oak--toastiness, vanilla. Also some hints of citrus and tropical fruit flavors It's a good wine, but I think I may have paid much, too much for it. Acidity is the best thing about it. US$49.99 at Wine Club in Santa Ana.

No ml and no oak. Crisp, vibrant citrus, pear and light lemon on the nose. Palate has biting acidity and grapefruit notes as well as lemon. Nice, refreshing style. 87 pts. At winery

Color: shiny yellow gold with touches of hay and hints of mercury on the rim On the nose: beautiful pear, peach, banana, pineapple cheesecake, fresh grapefruit, white chocolate and honeysuckle with touches of crushed granite and apricot On the palate: fresh entrance evolving on marzipan, Meyer lemon, bubble gum, yellow raspberry and cantaloupe, lingering on a crisp acidity with a strong minerality
