Alpha Omega Red Bordeaux Blend Napa Valley Proprietary Red 2006

Member Review by VegasOenophile:

Red cherry, tulips, black pepper, thyme, lavender and vanilla flowers on the nose. Cassis and blueberry with rosemary, thyme and ripe blackberry on the palate. Very floral and absolutely lovely. Deep, rich, decadent and all in balance. - Tasted at the winery 4/19/10

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

88 points. This wine’s aroma is full of ripe, dark red plum and berry tones. There is a faint dried fruit quality some brambly bush tones, a hint of menthol, and some pretty intense black stone minerality. This wine could probably benefit from a few more years of age. The nose on this wine is pretty complex, but I think in a couple years it could really be amazing. The palate opens somewhat creamy with a smooth berry component and lots of spiced plum perserves. There is also a touch of blueberry pie filling, some faint rose wood, and a bit of anise seed mixed in with a faint minty forest floor qualityon the finish. This wine has very nice texture, it’s smooth and well made with a nice intensity and a lingering finish. I really do think that this wine would benefit from some aging, but even right now, I’d say that this is a wine Worth Trying.
