Alpamanta Estate Malbec 2009

External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:

Red-ruby. Musky, reduced nose offers currant, coffee and sweet oak notes of mocha and milk chocolate. Silky and sexy but not overly sweet, with cassis and violet flavors complicated by earth and herb nuances. Finishes quite broad and long, with suave tannins that should not get in the way of enjoying this wine early.

The 2009 Malbec spent 10 months in French oak. On the palate it reveals a similar personality to the 2008 with a sense of elegance but is in need of greater depth and concentration. Drink it over the next 5–6 years.
