Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio 2012
This 2012 bottling from Alois Legeder shows the true noble potential of Pinot Grigio when it is shown proper care. From the great wine making area of Trentino-Alto Adige, which is in the cooler North-Eastern area of Italy, it is a brilliant straw yellow with a green shimmer. Quite pronounced and expressive aroma with flowery and somewhat spicy notes. Richly flavored in the mouth, with a slight smokiness at the back and a good, fresh finish.
Christmas 2013, Binny's. Super Bowl party. I hope to get a taste (sharing with no one) of bottle #2 in the cellar. Bottle #2, went with us to Power's house, 3/22/14, again said the Wine Nazi, "No wine for you".

Clean and fresh, this stony white offers a subtle mix of apple, melon and citrus zest notes, set on a creamy palate. Drink now through 2016.
