Editorial Reviews for Alois Lageder Lagrein Alto Adige Südtirol Rosé
This is quite perfumed on the nose with notes of wild raspberries and lingonberries cut through by gentle suggestions of wildflowers and forest floor. There's a nice twang of sour watermelon on entry, then this settles down into a more conventional cherry vein of fruit that is couched in a rather soft, if vividly bright texture that leads to a lovely, nuanced mineral and almond rich finish. A bit on the bigger side but well balanced and ready for preserved pork products! 89pts
User Reviews for Alois Lageder Lagrein Alto Adige Südtirol Rosé
Add your reviewWinemaker's Notes:
Produced by the legendary winemaker Alois Lageder in Northern Italy, this wine's quality benefits from extended "sur?lie" maturation during fermentation giving the wine greater intensity and depth. Aromatic, complex and substantial. Serious, Dry, Pink!
Tasting Notes:
Pink colour with ruby hints. Quite pronounced, fruity aroma (red berries) with floral impressions (violets). Medium-bodied smooth fruit on the palate, fresh. Long lasting aftertaste with an elegant bitter twist. This wine should be drunk within 2 years from production.
