The nose showed bright ripe cherries, cinnamon sugar and coco dust with a savory side as well that added leather, chalk dust, eucalyptus and seared meat. On the palate, it was full bodied and glided over the senses like a velvet glove. Notes black cherry, raisin, sweet spices and licorice leading into the long finish staying finish. You can smell and taste the Amarone style of wine-making, yet this is brighter and more vibrant than most Amarone I've tasted.

The Amorone style rack drying intensifies the fruit and makes it a very deep wine. One of the most original and best bottles of wine I've had in the last year.

Here is a joint project from the Bodegas Renacer in Mendoza and Allegrini in the Veneto- an Amarone style Malbec! Consultant Alberto Antonini brings his considerable expertise to this unique project, creating a wine that is Italian inspiration but pure Argentina in the bottle. Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon are left on the vine in the high altitude, arrid Mendoza climate the grapes are dried and ready, losing 30% of their weight, in a mere 10 to 12 days. In Italy it can take several months. Fermented to completion in temperature controlled cement and stainless vats. Then aged 12 months in French oak. The Wine Advocate scored it 91 points saying "Renacer's 2008 Enamore Allegrini & Renacer is a collaboration with the renowned Allegrini Winery in Italy's Veneto. It is a blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Bonarda made with dried grapes in the style of ripasso. The wine is just off-dry with only 8g residual sugar while offering up a slightly roasted, liqueur-like perfume along with plenty of spice and black fruit notes.. Smooth textured, rich, and plush on the palate, it is packed with flavor and is structured enough to drink for another 6-8 years. It is also an excellent value." Limited.
