This Merlot-for-the-masses is nothing fancy, but it has bounciness on its side. Smells just as it tastes: fleshy, red plums, with just the slightest hint of oak on the finish. There are few red wines that this reviewer would ever put on ice, or in the fridge for a few minutes, but this is one of them.

Soft, ripe and generous with its cherry and grapey flavors. Fine nap of tannin on the finish. Drink now.

Smooth in texture, with a distinct herbal character up front, finishing with plum and chocolate flavors as the oak comes through. Drink now through 2009.

This pleasant, fruity style has straightforward blackberry and spice flavors that linger. Drink now.
