Nicolas Jaeger is the current cellar master, responsible for ensuring the quality of the Champagnes, selecting the very best Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes to add to the cuvées. The grapes are sourced from the three main regions of Champagne for each varietal: Chardonnay from Côtes des Blancs, Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims and Pinot Noir from the Marne Valley. Wine is produced without the use of malolactic fermentation to preserve the integrity of the grapes’ specific characters. All of these factor in to make a series of top quality, small production Champagnes in a variety of styles sure to please any palate.  Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Fantastic rose champagne. Aromas of yeast, frais de bois and stone, all echoed in the flavors. Creamy midpalate, with fine mousse and an active but tiny bead. Everything I love in a champagne.

Very good mousse. Nice, powerful nose with strong minerality. Same goes for the palate, but could stay a bit longer. Nice fruit, and mellow toastiness. Nothing contorversial or experimental, but classic and correct. Drank very well with a selection of goat milk cheeses.

Very nice fine mousse of bubbles. Great red fruit and buiscuity flavors - not too yeasty.

Nice, but for the same price the Rose is better. Still a fine Champagne. A little too acidic and yeasty for me.

Best champagne I've had for the price point. Not too dry.

First enjoyed this on a first-class transatlantic flight and considered it one of the best I'd been served on a flight. Always raises eyebrows without an introduction. Highly recommended anytime.

Rich and mellow, with vanilla, peach and candied lemon flavors. There's an underlying chalklike sensation, bright acidity and a long, toffee-tinged aftertaste. Drink now through 2020. 3,000 cases made. Wine Spectator, Nov 30, 2009, Bruce Sanderson

This great classic clearly shows the style of Alfred Gratien. It's a refined blend dominated by fruity Pinot Meunier combined with the elegance of Chardonnay.

Subtle, with savory dried thyme and ground ginger notes playing off of flavors of glazed apple and candied lemon zest, while a streak of smoky mineral and finely wrought acidity and texture push through on the finish. Drink now. - AN Wine Spectator. A Champagne Blend wine from Champagne in France. N.V. Maison Alfred Gratien Brut Classique 750ml
