Alfaro Family Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010

Member Review by napagirl68:

Bright red fruit- cherry, cranberry, and a bit of wild strawberry... fruit forward, yet well balanced with excellent acidity. I also get some floral and spice on the nose. Dijon clones 115, 667, 777 as well as Clone 37 (Mount Eden), and the Swiss Clones 2A and 23. Only 113 cases made.

We invite you to come and experience a taste of Corralitos, the best-kept secret of the Santa Cruz Mountains appellation. Artisanal bread-baker turned winemaker Richard Alfaro enjoys the fruits of his labor. After a long and satisfying career as the founder of a restaurant and the wholesale baking company known under his own name - Alfaro's Micro Bakery - Richard shifted gears in 1997, acquiring an aging 75 acre apple farm south of Santa Cruz in Corralitos, California, which he and wife Mary Kay (a certified sommelier) subsequently transformed into Alfaro Family Vineyards & Winery. Our 35 acres of hillside vineyards are located less than 4 miles from the cooling influence of the Monterey Bay in the southern end of the Santa Cruz Mountains appellation. The Alfaro Family Vineyards wine label, based on an original painting by noted Santa Cruz artist Laurie Zeszut features the entire Alfaro Family in a harvest scene. The Alfaro children (and vineyard namesakes) Lindsay Paige and Ryan Spencer frequently help out Mom and Dad. Read less
