Alexander Valley Vineyard Alex Val School House Reserve Cabernet 2005
Alexander Valley Vineyards Sin Zin Zinfandel The newest vintage of Sin Zin offers generous aromas of black cherries, blueberries, vanilla and spice. The juicy fruit is apparent right at the front end. The hefty flavors of cherries and plums carry this wine right through the mid-palate and into a lengthy finish, where a touch of spicy oak rears its head.
this went perfectly with a thin crust mushroom spinach pizza.
A potent, full bodied cab franc! I was presented with 10 to taste at work today and this was by far my favorite. Just being opened on my first taste, it was extremely concentrated and reminiscent of a young Cab Sauv. After letting it sit a few hours, this thing is incredible! Loads of cherry with hints of spice. A definate caramel flavor. Very fruit forward, but balanced. Tannins are firm but not rigid. An absolute crowd pleaser. My Rating: 89/100 For the price: 96/100
weird. astringent mouthfeel Lemon snapple finish. not the tastiest.
Tasted better in the tasting room. Didn't feel like it was in balance. Maybe the individual bottle that I had.
Opaque plum, with aromas of berry bramble, sweet wood and baking spices, flavors of boysenberries, black plums and black raspberries with spice. Good body and balance with a lingering finish. This is the best of this 2005 series.
Nice wine, flavorful fruit taste.
Color: very bright medium-light red with fuchsia undertones Nose: Charcoal grilled steak, roasted tomatoes, lots of fresh cherries and wet rocks... and some black pepper Flavor Profile: Loads and loads of fruit, concord grapes, more cherries, white peppers, strawberries... also some fruit soda (artificial) fruit flavors. Decent mouthfeel... maybe a little flabby Finish: medium strength tannins and strong acid are overpowered by the alcohol. The wine is definitely a little unbalanced. Chocolate flavors linger.

Wine Tasting NotesThe wine's characteristics are typical to our estate fruit with aromas of dark cherries, plums, licorice and earth. With further aeration the wine reveals complex sweet; layers of blackberry, herbs, cedar and tobacco. In the mouth, the wine is complex, full-bodied and finishes with long, ripe but firm tannins destined to support successful aging for 4-6 years.
"The 2005 is half Syrah and half Merlot. The Syrah side offers some floral notes along with elements of blueberry and a bit of earthiness. For its part

Description
Temptation Zinfandel was born out of our twenty-five plus years making Sin Zin Zinfandel. First produced in 1978, with 100% Alexander Valley grapes, Sin Zin has developed a cult like following for its abundant raspberry fruit and freshly crushed black pepper character. In 2001 we launched Redemption Zinfandel, a 100% Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel that displays rich blackberry, blueberry and spice rack qualities that is a terrific counterpoint to Sin Zin. And yet, something was amiss... Sin leads to Redemption, and yet what leads to Sin? Food Pairings for Alexander Valley Vineyard Alex Val School House Reserve Cabernet
Creamy aromatics of understated dark-skinned fruit and berries mix with toasty oak and a hint of forest floor. Well-integrated flavors of dark-toned fruit—plum, cassis and boysenberry—mingle with cedar and mocha-laced oak notes. The additional barrel and bottle aging contribute to the wine’s the richness and depth, and the youthful acidity lends itself to endless food pairings and additional bottle aging. If you can keep from enjoying the wine now, it is a notable cellar candidate.
