What to Expect

Zinfandel is considered America's own great indigenous grape, even though its origins lie on the Adriatic coast. Planted throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, Zinfandel is at its best in warm regions with cooler temperatures during harvest. The wines can range from off-dry Rosés, White Zinfandels, and light bistro styled wines, to big, rich powerful wines - even luscious wines for dessert bottling. The flavors range from plummy to raspberry, although deep blackberry fruit and brambly spice tones are most common.

Winemakers Notes

Hefty flavors of cherries and plums carry this wine right through the mid-palate and into a lengthy finish, where a touch of spicy oak rears its head.

Hand of Snooth Voice of Snooth

Raspberry candy and root beer greet the nose backed by a lovely, tense steely tone. Sweetly fruited with watermelon jolly ranchers and black raspberry fruits that are sweet and supple yet quite focused. This really has a wonderful mouthfeel, it’s still a little tight and rigid, and quite refreshing. The tannins are still just a touch stiff even if they are very well balanced and the wine can stand a bit of time in the bottle but it’s certainly attractive right now. 90pts

In the glass, you'll find generous aromas of black cherries, blueberries, vanilla and spice. The big fruit notes are apparent right at the front end. The hefty flavors of cherries and plums carry this wine right through the mid-palate, paving the way for a lengthy finish, where a touch of spicy oak rears its head.

Cherry on the nose with a little pepper. Dark through the middle with light coming through on the edges. Nice spice with dark fruit forward to start. Long finish.

A nice wine to start the evening with. Have a haunted house to attend to support the local Humane Society.
