Alexander Grappa 1980

Winemaker's Notes:

Artistry, energy and ingenuity abound in Alexander Grappas from entrepreneur Sandro Bottega and his family. From the Bottega family facilities near Venice in northeast Italy’s Veneto region -- the birthplace of grappa -- Alexander Grappas come in a series of sensational hand-blown bottles, each designed by Sandro Bottega and made by local master craftsmen at the family’s glass production site. In addition to grappa and glassware, this energetic family’s ventures include production of wines and sparkling wines, wine accessories, mineral water, olive oil and organic food. Alexander Grappas are double distilled to a delicate 40° proof and made according to the most exacting standards. The result is a line of elegant, soft, smooth grappas of utmost quality and purity. Production Area
Conegliano, Italy Vinification
Double distilled Pomace of white and red grape varietals. The most fragrant and mature bunches are chosen while still on the vine shoots and they are strictly controlled so that “Pomace” can be distilled fresh. “Pomace” is the remains of the winemaking process and consists of skins, pulp and seeds of the grapes. It’s the most aromatic and distinctive part of the grapes. The Double distillation in traditional copper stills is aimed to preserve the original characteristics of the grape varietals in a light, smooth pleasant Grappa. Color
Clear Bouquet
Characteristic fine, intense and persistent bouquet of fresh fruits with hazel vanilla aromas. Taste
It is well balanced, dry, warm and soft on the palate.
