Aldo Conterno Chardonnay Bussiador 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

"Rich and saturated with cherry, raspberry, licorice and tar notes, this red is concentrated and intense. Remains elegant and focused on the grip-filled finish. ...93." WS 4/12 "Conterno’s 2007 Barolo impresses for its sense of harmony and freshness. The wine has firmed up nicely since I first tasted it in November 2010, boding well for its development in the cellar. In 2007 the Barolo possesses an extra degree of richness and generosity than is typically the case, never a bad thing for an entry-level bottling. In a few years, the soft, supple fruit should be at the height of its expression. This is a jewel of a wine and a huge outperformer in relative terms. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027...92+"WA "Lovely tannins to this wine, with a plum and chocolate character and hints of nuts. Full, yet balanced and silky. Very delicate. So delicious now, but best in three or four years..91" JS 5/11

Relatively sweet and open Barolo approachable now without being heavy. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and a nutty nuance. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
