Albino Armani Pinot Grigio Valdadige Vigneto Corvara 2012

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Softly fragrant on the nose with some light herb spice notes accenting the apricot, lime pith and heirloom apple fruit. Very clear and fresh in the mouth with integrated acidity supporting a slightly rounded mouthfeel. There’s plenty of fresh fruit here, simple and pure with notes of pear and apricot brightening with a touch of lime pith on the back end. This is a modestly rich, nicely dry example of Pinot Grigio with some really attractive mineral and almond notes adding detail to the moderately long finish. This is rather refined and complex for Pinot Grigio. 89pts

Albino Armani:
400 years among grapevines is the equivalence of infinite passion for winemaking. In the Adige Valley the history of the Armani family and that of winegrowing seem to develop together. It all began on December 7, 1607, when Domenico Armani signed the deed for lands with "trees and grapevines", which previously belonged to his father Simone Armani.

Not bad, not great, just a fairly light, non-descript Italian pinot grigio.

Melon and lemon peel aromas. Palate is fresh and refreshing, with loads of citrus flavors and a clean finish with more melon.

A very nice single vineyard Pinot Grigio with great flavor and a hint of a richness bereft in most Italian Pinot Grigios. Well balanced, not overly acidic.

Sweet lemon nose. Perfectly balanced acidity with round mellow tropical fruits. A slight complex animal edge that makes this a pretty fun wine.

This does that special Pinot Grigio trick of somehow getting sunshine right into the bottle. The nose is just lovely: white linen and pale lemons, a breeze from the next grove over. The rest is subdued tropical fruit and a hint of soft peach, all layered over a well-balanced wash of acidity.

Klare helle Farbe. Intensive Fruchtaromatik nach Aprikose, Apfel und reifen Birnen. Am Gaumen feine Rasse mit viel Frucht und harmonierender Säure.
