Alamos Sauvignon Blanc An Selection of Wines Or Other Items Argentina Mendoza Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Nicolas Catena was the third generation of his family to make wine in Mendoza but the first to see the potential in planting higher and higher vineyards in search of cool climate sites ideal for the production of fine wine. Today, over a decade on from the first Catena Malbec in 1994, he works with his daughter Laura (who improbably juggles her work as an ER surgeon in San Francisco with the family business) in their relentless pursuit of the finest possible quality wines from their unique vineyard sites. The 2009 Alamos Sauvignon Blanc reflects the character of its high altitude origins. With warm sunny days, and cool mountain nights, the Sauvignon Blanc grapes achieve a full, well balanced maturity while maintaining their natural acidity. The Alamos Sauvignon Blanc is classic in style, bringing the best of South American Sauvignon character to this fresh and vibrant wine. On the nose are intense, ripe grapefruit & citrus fruit aromas & delicate notes of freshly cut grass. On the palate it is clean & vibrant, with ripe fruit flavours, well balanced acidity & a bright, fresh finish.
