I admit the nose of this wine is one of the best I've had yet but horribly shocked by the sheer strength of the body. Unreasonably strong tannins coat the tongue and sustain the taste way too long in my opinion. The mix of grapefruit and what seems to be orange on the end of the tongue does not mix well. This is not a wine I will be purchasing again.

My Rating 86 : This 2011 wine has a consistent quality standard. Nothing great but a reliable everyday wine with a somehow complex nice nose and a dry fruity body. What's wrong with the people at Snooth. I put in a 2011 wine and they show everything back to 2006. Have they lost it?

A solid, straightforward malbec in every aspect, with classic inky nose and red fruit flavor, albeit a little tannic even for a young wine, and also bitter at the finish. (AV 85, http://argovino.com/?p=590)

Alamos Malbec 2011 Mendoza Argentina $20.00 Aust Colour: Dark plumb with purple outer rim Nose: Dusty plumb, dark cherry aromas interwoven with light spice and soil very European and interesting. Palate: Malbec should be plumy that is the nature of this grape. this wine shows every bit of that along with a wonderfully big Dusty finish showing ripe silky tannins on a firm finish Conclusion: A quality red and this is not just cheep plonk But it is not for everyone

Medium red-ruby. Musky, rather wild aromas of blueberry, game, leather and coffee. Sweet, plush and seamless, with pliant dark berry flavors nicely framed by harmonious acidity. This generous, edge-free malbec, carrying a moderate 13.7% alcohol, can be enjoyed right now.

A racy, medium-bodied red, offering floral raspberry and crushed blackberry notes that give way to assertive tannins on the finish. Drink now.

The Alamos Malbec has dark, blackish purple color. The nose shows ripe black fruits, black pepper spice and floral notes. The mouthfeel is full yet soft and supple, with black raspberry and currant flavors mingled with notes of sweet spice and a touch of leather. The finish is long and persistent with soft, sweet tannins.

The 2011 Alamos Malbec, raised the same way as the Cabernet Sauvignon, has a simple bouquet of dark cherries, blueberry and crushed violet. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, fine tannins. There is a seductive sense of harmony here with a light but insistent grip and a minerally aftertaste. This Malbec is very well-crafted. Drink nowandndash;2017.

A deep, dark violet color, the wine has a concentrated nose of black stone fruits with a touch of toast from light oak aging. The palate is full with black raspberry and currant flavors mixed with notes of vanilla and coffee.

Winemaker's Notes:

Grapes for Alamos wines are sourced from the premiere regions of Lujan de Cuyo and Valle de Uco. The cooler conditions produce wines with aromatic intensity and freshness, while the more intense sunshine lends overall concentration and structure.
