Alain Paret Condrieu les Ceps du Nebadon 2011

External Review by WineExpress.com:

Only 600 cases of this rare Rhone Valley white were produced. The "Ceps du Nebadon" vineyard is set on several south facing hillsides in AOC Condrieu. On these hillsides, terraces are supported by dry stone walls, and the soil is composed of granite, schist, mica, quartz. 100% Viognier vines grow on these steep slopes, where yields are extremely low. Additionally, a green harvest is practiced to insure the best quality fruit. Grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard. The wine is aged for 10 months on thin lees and in new oak barrels. Robert Parker calls Alain Paret "…a producer to be taken seriously." He scored the 2010 94 points. Wine Spectator awarded this 2011 92 points saying "Deliciously plump, yet pure, with anise, peach and creamed melon flavors stitched with a subtle note of almond cream on the finish. Lovely mouthfeel. Drink now through 2014." Very Limited and On Sale!
