RiceSelect™ Arborio Rice has a naturally creamy texture, which makes it the perfect choice for risotto dishes and Sangiovese Wines
Big and chewy, but with finesse. There is a lot going on - sweet fruit, vanilla, spice and nice tannins. Very dark and intense, but this isn't a jammy one-note wine. Very elegant with a nice focus. Would pair well with grilled meats and intense cheeses.
Delicious. Had it at Bari
Medium dryness and body. Complex.
Not worth the price

External Reviews for Aia Vecchia Lagone Toscana IGT
Lagone is a pleasurable and rich blend of Merlot, Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc and Sangiovese that opens with rich, dark color and intense aromas of sweet spice, chocolate, cherry and tobacco. The wine feels chewy and smooth in the mouth with a long, velvety feel on the close.
The 2008 Lagone is one of the rare values readers will find from Bolgheri. Layers of sweet, dark fruit flow effortlessly from this delicate, feminine wine. In 2008 Lagone is more about subtlety than power. The blend is 60% Merlot, the remainder split between Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2011andndash;2014.

A full, velvety and juicy red, delivering lots of Christmas pudding and dried fruit character on the nose and palate. Best after 2011.
Aia Vecchia's 2007 Lagone is a wonderful entry-level red from Tuscany's Maremma. A blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, the Aia Vecchia emerges with dark red berries, grilled herbs and spices, showing lovely vibrancy and freshness all the way through to the finish. This is a great value and a fabulous introduction to the wines of Bolgheri. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014.
Aromas of plum and dark fruits lead to a full body, with velvety tannins and a soft, caressing finish. Minerally and floral. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best after 2011.
Fantastic wine to drink right now. A red blend comprised largely of Merlot, the nose displays aromas of dark fruit and mocha - however it is deceptive as it smells lighter than it actually is. The palate opens up with more developed dark fruits and chocolate - very chewy with clean tannins. Long finish. Will pair well with all of your grilling desires.
